Annulohypoxylon sp, Tom Bigelow, Forest Park, 3/16/14
Please join us for a walk in Forest Park in Queens this Sunday.
The period of early March to mid-April can be relatively underwhelming as far as fungal diversity is concerned, but we usually find 60+ species nonetheless. We can expect to see jelly fungi, polypores, crusts and ascomycetes.
Bragging rights to anyone who finds the first Agrocybe, Dryad’s Saddle or Pluteus of the year!
Bring a lunch and something to drink.
If you’ve never been on a mushroom walk with us before, here’s what to expect.
Many members document their finds using the iNaturalist app – we highly recommend doing so.
It is always advisable to check the MTA Service Advisory web page before you head out.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
